Frederick Arthur Mitchell Died 7th July 1915
We have no certain evidence that the following Frederick Mitchell is the man remembered on the Wokingham War Memorial. Frederick Arthur, who was killed on the 7th July 1915, was born in Wandsworth and joined the Devonshire’s 2nd Battalion, attesting in Stratford, Essex. We find a Frederick Arthur being brought up in Sunningdale, near to Wokingham, but there is as yet no evidence to connect him to Wokingham. In the absence of finding any other Frederick, we are happy to remember this brave man who died for his country in France.
