James Sidney Bedford. Died 13 April 1918
James Sidney Bedford son of Alfred and Elizabeth Bedford was born in early 1888. He was their youngest child (only 5 of their 11 children survived to adulthood) and by 1911 was living in New Wokingham Road with his mother and 2 elder sisters.
He was a hairdresser having his own business.
He served as a private in the Queen’s (Royal West Surrey) 1st Battalion. We do not know when he joined up but he died on 13 04 1918 and is buried at Lijssenthoek military cemetery.
Sadly we cannot trace his medal roll at present and therefore we are unable to see how long he served in the Army or where he fought other than at the time of his death in Flanders.
