Albert Victor Loader. Died 1916
Albert Victor was the 4th child of William and Mary Loader, he was born in Wokingham in September 1897. William had died by 1911 and the family lived at 49 Easthampstead Road, Wokingham.
According to the obituary written in the Reading Mercury on October 14th 1916 Albert had worked for that newspaper as its Wokingham correspondent before the war. He was also clerk to Mr Clifton (Town Clerk) and a bell ringer at All Saints Church.
Albert joined up in Wokingham, the Prince of Wales Own Civil Service Rifles, 15th (County
of London) battalion London Regiment. He served with this battalion on the Somme and was killed in the action around the Butte de Warlencourt on 17th October 1916. He is buried in Warlencourt cemetery.
His mother’s address is given in London after the war.
