One Response to Day, Horace 1917

  1. Heidi Sandford says:

Horace is my 1st cousin 3 x removed. I have recently obtained his service record from the Grenadier Guards and wondered if you would like to copy them to this site?
I believe he was enlisted in to the Grenadier Guards because of his height (5ft 10ins) which was apparently lofty for those days.
I have been lucky enough to get tickets to the Passchendaele 100 memorial this weekend and so will be going to honour Horace at the Menin Gate but as the main ceremony is at Tyne Cot I will pay my respects to the men of Wokingham who are buried or commemorated there.
