Frederick Wakefield. Died 15 June 1915
The only reference we can find to a Frederick Wakefield is a Canadian Infantry Sergeant from the Western Ontario Regiment, 1st Battalion. It appears he was stationed in Reading, but there is no evidence of his birth being British. The memorial had a private subscription, which means the names were provided by private individuals. This would provide a certain doubt about whether this is the right person. However, if he is not the Frederick Wakefield of the Wokingham Memorial, we do at least have the opportunity to recognise the Canadians positively disproportionate contribution to the success of the First World War.
