William was the son of Walter and Jane Lawrence, their 4th child, born in 1895, one of 10 children of whom 3 died young. Walter was a carpenter born in Thame in Oxfordshire, his wife being a Wokingham girl. In 1901 they lived at 16 Havelock Road. in 1911 William was still living at home and working as a labourer.
It has not been possible to determine when William died or with which regiment he served. There are several William Lawrences, only one William Stephen Lawrence but he was not born in Wokingham. We need your help!
